Ladies and Gentlemen,

There's an old saying -- all good things must come to an end. No matter what it is, the result is always the same: It will end. For me, this train ride began one November evening in 2005, when Joffey and Cicero offered me another position on the staff: House Administrator. It was the position I had originally applied to, but was not available originally until the first choice decided to turn it down. That day started an incredible journey; one that's had its rough spots, but many, many good spots. Three and a quarter years later, I stand before you in that same position I was entrusted to on that November evening, reflecting back on many years of GovSIM.

Today, however, that train ride has come to its end. This is where I get off.

Effectively immediately, I hereby tender my resignation from the Administrative Staff.

And that, as they say, is that.

Might as well leech onto this as long it's here...

While it's been great fun and...other things, my time as an active admin here on USG (or pretending to be an active admin) is drawing to a close. Due to my impending return to school and some other factors, I will be abdicating all my official responsibilities and stepping back into the shadows as an admin emeritus of sorts. I will stick around some to give input on where I can and possibly run the occasional scenario, but not much beyond that. More than semi-retired, let's call it 90 percent retired. I don't expect to return to playing since I doubt I could be much more than a semi-active drone at this point, and I don't think anybody is begging for that to happen. I will try to wrap up a couple of loose ends in the coming days, announcements forthcoming on who will be running the Sierra Club and Department of Defense.
