Attention! Did you just lose an election? Didn't even bother to compete? Good news- President Magruder is looking for motivated, accomplished individuals just like you.

If you are currently a Republican or a Democrat (no members of the press or current Governor or Senate office holders, please; resigning will not put you in the running, either) you may apply for one of the following four Cabinet positions by November 30th, care of Magruder and Athos.

• Secretary of State - Our nation's highest diplomat, particularly when visiting Jamaica.
• Secretary of the Treasury - Boring job, since there's nothing economic going on... oh wait a minute.
• Secretary of Defense - Formerly "Defence" before de-Britished.
• Secretary of Homeland Security - This is really an umbrella organization for the CIA, FBI, NSA, DNI, and everyone who doesn't much like one another.

We're looking for fresh faces, not old hands at any particular post, and we'd like to know why you're interested in the post - brief applications, please. President Magruder, being very bi-partisan (he just swings that way, it seems) will award two posts to Democrats and two posts to Republicans. The Interior Department will remain admin controlled until a player Presidency.

Warning: The Cabinet will be an active component of GovSim and all four Secretaries will be kept busy. You'll receive a lot of info and have a Department to run in many ways; you'll be responsible for keeping the President informed and the President will be looking to you for policy recommendations and to support his initiatives. We look forward to working with you.

As an addendum to Porthos' announcement above, these cabinet positions will be primary character positions. They will not be permitted to have House multis. If that makes you change your mind regarding participation, let me or Porthos know and we can pull your app from the pile. Thanks.

Given the enormous restrictions we placed on who could even apply for a two month stint as an admin Cabinet player (and this is a test drive, so it may be a bit bumpy, as I'm sure you've all guessed), we saw an overwhelming number of applicants right up until 11:30 last night. Thanks to everyone who applied. We gave serious thought to every application and your proposals were discussed by the majority of the admin team.
