A collection of miscellaneous announcements and updates that I've been meaning to publish for over a month now. Most of these came from PMs and other questions received during last election.

QUOTE
1) It is against the rules to fundraise and prepare for an election with one character while simultaneously playing another character. This includes Governors' House multis, non-legislative multis, and any other multis. If you wish to conduct fundraising, you must resign all other primary multis (Governors, Senators, House characters).

2) Incumbent matching funds match up to $3M of all funds raised by a politician since his most recent election or appointment to his current position, regardless of how many sessions this may take.

3) Failure to provide an updated budget during an election is grounds for disqualification. You must post an updated budget, or edit your original budget, by the deadline every day or you will be subject to a late penalty. Being late with a budget update by >24 hours is an automatic DQ. This works exactly like events - submit your budget at the same time as your events each day.

4) Lt. Gov campaigns do not require budgets or platforms. There are no CTs allowed in these races, and there is one marquee event.

5) PAC funds distributed after the FEC filing deadline MUST be posted in the thread in the Elections Central forum. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the funds.

6) Any funding returned to a PAC by a candidate is subject to all spending restrictions typically in place on the PAC.

7) Incumbency is 45 days before the end of the session.

8) Cities are a required part of the location for election events. Failure to include a city along with a state will result in a penalty on the affected events.

9) If a candidate for Governor does not post a platform or budget in time to avoid a default, that party's candidate for Lt. Governor has the option of "moving up" the ticket to run for the Governorship instead. In this situation, the Lt. Governor race is then a default. If the player who has moved up from the Lt. Governor race to the Governor race is involved in another race or holds another elected position, they must resign that position or race immediately in order to move up.

Note #3, as this is a major problem with most candidates. We will be enforcing these rules this session.

As we kind of screwed over the GOP in running against Cav in the SWS Gov race this time by snatching away Lane, whoever files to run for Governor for the GOP in the SWS now will have until July 16 to post all six fundraisers, instead of the three that they would normally be limited to after the first cutoff. This does not effect the regular fundraising rules for any other candidate in any other race.
Thomas Lane
Just a note, for clarification and future reference, this rule, regarding headliner events includes fundraising events that are posted in the same thread. This means that even if you post two grassroots and one headliner in the same thread, the grassroots MUST COME FIRST or your headliner will not be graded but will count against your total fundraiser limit.

I will be grading Wyatt's Headliner here because of some confusion over the rule and failure to enforce in the past. There will be no further exceptions to this rule, so don't bother complaining.
