Professional History
After graduating with his masters in 1983 he went to work for this family owned company, heading up the department in charge of expanding the business' interests both domestically and abroad. Following the death of his uncle in 1985, who left no heirs, he inherited majority stockholder status which he retains to this day. Following the untimely death of the Congresswoman who proceeded him in 1990, he was swept into office by bankrolling his campaign from personal funds, and large support by the Black, Hispanic, and feminist communities. Though said to be socially liberal, he has also been noted to be economically more moderate. In 1992, he was elected Governor of the West, defeating Congresswoman Maxie Power of Washington. In 1996 he won re-election to the office by defeating Senator William McDowell. Shortly thereafter he married Shannon Wagner. In 1999 he moved from Berkeley, CA to Seattle, WA to ease his wife's travel to and from her own job.
