Republican

QUOTE
Charles Herbert Porter was born in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania on October 23rd 1950. His father was a wealthy advertising executive and his mother was involved in various charities and other types of philanthropy. Porter attended Adover Academy and was accepted at the University of Pennsylvania. However in 1969 Charles put off going to school and joined the Navy as an Intelligence Officer to avoid the draft. From 1969-1971 he served in NATO HQ in Brussels, Belgium. He was stationed state side from 1971-1973 while working on his degree in Political Science from University of Pennsylvania. He retired from the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant. He graduated from Harvard Law in 1975.

In 1975 Porter joined the Ford re-election campaign effort, working on their Pennsylvania Campaign in the 1976 election. The Porter family had been friends of the Ford's since Porters father attended the University of Michigan with the future President. After Ford's defeat Porter went back to Pennsylvania to work for Democratic Governor Milton Shapp and his successor Dick Thornburgh as his Deputy Chief of Staff.

Though bitter about Reagan severely damaging Ford in 1976, Porter accepted a position in the Administration after golfing with former President Ford. In February of 1981 Porter accepted a job as Assistant U.S. Attorney for Civil Rights in the Reagan Administration. Porter left the Reagan Administration at its conclusion on January 20th 1989. From 1989-1991 he taught Law at the University of Pennsylvania before running for election in his suburban Philadelphia district.

Throughout the campaign Charles would drive himself to and from events in his green 1993 Chevy Blazer. Voters would see him campaign off the tailgate of his blazer through out the 1992 campaign. After narrowly winning election to become a Congressman, Porter drives to Washington D.C. in his car.

Is this going to be the only Republican I'm voting with on anything?
Charles Porter
Probably sad.gif I am trying really hard to make Porter into a Eisenhower/Nixon (with no water gate) Republican. That wing still exists at this point.
