Bio:
Born in Pineville, Louisiana. Raised by his mother Sarah Flashman, his father having skipped town after finding out that his mother was pregnant. Many in the town were not surprised by the news due to the family history of the Flashmans. Rumoured to have links back to a famous English military hero of the mid-19th century who had a penchant for the ladies, the Flashmans of Louisiana bore their name with pride despite their less than glamourous reputation.
While for the most part his time growing up in Pineville was unremarkable he did develop a reputation as a ladies man just like his distant British ancestor. After an unfortunate incident involving the daughters of the local sheriff and priest, he was encouraged to join the military as a means to leave town for awhile so in 1952, he joined the Marines. He stayed in the Marines until 1990 reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and received several citations for meritorious action in the Korean war, Vietnam War, Grenada and Panama.
Soon after returning home from duty and receiving a warmer than expected reception from the townsfolk. He quickly set about purchasing a local bar that welcomes serving and retired military personnel with a thriving business soon developing thanks to the presence of the nearby Camp Beauregard. He became well known throughout Louisiana as welcoming soul with a penchant for wine, women and song.
In 1992, he was approached by the Republican Party to run for the Louisiana 5th. He won quite easily with 69 percent of the vote despite claims by opponents that his citations he earned in the military were awarded under dubious circumstances.
He is quite happily unmarried with no children.
