Bio: Sebastian Tito Williams was born to Joseph and Jeanette Williams on March, 19th 1964 in Gadsden, Alabama where he spent most of his childhood as part of a lower class household. At the age of sixteen, his father was laid off from the local steel plant and the family relocated to Charlotte in search of better employment. While a good student in highschool, Sebastian went right to work after school soon joining a union, Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen. He then began to care more, given his low upbringing, about the plight of not only the working man but the desperate poor he, himself, was still a poor worker, however. After seven years of work, and climbing the chain he had his chance when he became head of his Local.
After the 90 elections, he announced he would run for Congress in 1992. However, his strong union support in a traditional right-to-work state made him an unlikely heir to the Democratic nomination, much less beat the Republican candidate. On the trail, though, Williams showed a wide grasp on the issues for someone who had never attended a single college class, and he offered pragmatic thought instead of partisan rhetoric. This won him a very narrow victory in the end and while his pragmatism would make him seem more moderate, even conservative, than most Democrats, he has identified with various progressive causes since starting to run.
