The Terms of Services

Or, what you can expect of us and what we expect of you

You can expect your Admin team to:

1) be fair. Your admins will rise above personal differences, political differences, or cultural differences in dealing with the players. If an admin feels incapable to being fair to a particular player, he will defer to another admin to decide.

2) respond promptly to your private messages and threads. When possible, your admin team will respond quickly to your posts and PMs. "Prompt" may not be within minutes though, so take into consideration the urgency of the issue, the time of day/week and the best mode of contacting an Admin before making repeated requests or follow-up posts or PMs.

3) consider your concerns and complaints. The admin team isn't perfect, and we can make mistakes. We will listen to your concerns and complaints, provided that they are polite and clear. Don't insult us, and don't make us guess your problems.

4) be polite. The admin team will not engage in flaming or abusive behavior.

5) be unified. We're a team, too, with the goal of making the simulation fun. Don't admin shop for the decision you want.

6) be consistant. Similar cases will be treated similarly, and precedent will be honored when possible.

7) be available. You can contact us via AIM or PM. We will let you know the best way to contact us. For some Admins this may be through the board (via posts or PM) or via AIM. You do not have a right to any Admin's AIM username or email address and we reserve the right to ignore messages delivered "off-board." But you can talk to us, and we encourage you to do so, through a venue/delivery method of our choice (which we will inform you of).

The Admin team expects to players to:

1) be honest. No cheating, no multis, no metagaming. And if you see someone else doing it, report it to us.

2) be polite. No flaming, no trolling, either to your other players or to the admin team.

3) be mature. No childish outbursts, and think before you post - especially when you're angry.

4) be clean. No explicit sex, no disgusting content, no grotesque obscenity.

5) be respectful of each other's differences. This means no flaming entire groups based on ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, whatever, just to get a rise out of them, and to recognize people can and do have good faith disagreements.

6) be realistic. The word "simulation" is in the title for a reason. Try to play your roles realistically.

7) remember that the admin team isn't paid for this. We aren't your servants, we're trying to have fun here as well.

8) be honest. The use of proxies, anonymizers, or any other technology to try and mask your IP address or email address is strictly forbidden and will result in punishment as necessary, up to a permanent ban from USG.

This is the agreement between the admin team and the players. We'll honor our side, and we expect you to do as well. And if a player breaks these simple rules, we will react.
