I've split the 1996 Off-Cycle FEC thread into the composite regions. Now, your posts from that thread are in your correct regional thread. If its at all unclear to you, off-cycle fundraising had to occur before 23:59 EST on October 11, 2010 in order to count as off-cycle. You all may feel free to post your regular, in-cycle fundraisers in your threads now. Please note in the above schedule that we have returned to a two-part fundraiser cut-off for local races, which means you can only post 3 of our fundraisers after December 20, and none after January 4.

Some of you may also notice that, in splitting them, your filing post became the thread header (Brocklin, Justice and Lulika). Do not tamper with the FEC info that is now posted above your FEC file, just ignore it. tongue.gif

Also, on the off chance we do continue through the 2000 elections, I have opened up 2000 Off-Cycle FEC thread. That said, for those of you who may wish to fundraise for 2000, please be aware the game may reset before then - the reset's exact time is still uncertain - and your work may be for naught.

Apparently, there has been a major misunderstanding about what is required in "Newspaper Ads" for the Headline events. So, re-read please:

QUOTE
Headliners: Websites are also, sadly, no more. In their place are newspaper ads. Really, we're just yanking websites off the internet and putting them in print. What we're talking about here are full-page ads in your typical daily newspaper and what we want to see is the same thing as websites. Technically, the only difference here would be for those of you who insist on actually making a graphic mock-up of your websites... now you'll have to make it look like a newspaper ad instead. We still want to see your platform in here with detailed information about your candidate's issue positions, and post-election plans if you are elected. This ad should be a way for you to really let everyone out there get informed about your candidacy.

Same as websites, just in newspapers instead of online. So what is required of a website?
QUOTE
Website
Your campaign website! Some of you might remember these as a pretty useless fundraising event from last reset... well, not anymore. Now, they represent the pennacle of the interweb's fundraising potential, but you're going to have to put a lot of time into them, and there is a downside that happens no-matter-what. Websites are basically online platforms. We don't care about pretty graphics, or ripped off homepages, like you all used to do with websites; we want detailed information about your candidate's issue positions, and post-election plans if you are elected. Websites are used by people now to really research the candidate before they commit themselves. We want to know everything about your candidate that we can through the Website., So basically, we want you to post your platform before the election, and a lot of your campaign strong points. Obviously, revealing your platform, and a great deal of your talking points before an election hampers your election strategy by giving your opponent an advantage of knowing all of that before the election. Websites, in that respect, are really a double-edged sword, because the better you make them, the more you're going to have to reveal of your candidacy, but the more money you get. Some of you are timid already, I feel it... but I will say this: Websites are more lucrative than Rallies. So if the downside is worth it to you, charge full force, and don't hold back - if you hold back, you won't get as much money!

Unfortunately, several fundraisers that appear as simple newspaper ads, and do not meet the required elements of the newspaper headline event, have been graded and the money already used. But this is a warning that all posted, ungraded newspaper events that appear like a grassroots direct mailer, or future ones that don't adhere to the correct standard, will not get as much money! Read the webiste explanation for what we are looking for in Newspaper ads. We are not looking for direct mailer-like content.

It was pointed out to me that I've made no announcement regarding PAC applications for House elections. PAC applications will be due the same time as platforms and initial budgets (in keeping with the original schedule which I've posted below). Look for a thread in your party war room for more details.

To those whose races/fundraisers I will be grading, please know that I will be away from the game due to a work-related matter through Sunday late afternoon. At that time, I should have access to the internet again and will go on a grading frenzy. Should there be some complications, I will be forced to postpone my races and such. However, I do not expect there to be any complications. Just a friendly heads up!

Don't miss the above from Mal and JWK-

Due to unforeseen travel this weekend, I will be somewhat incommunicado through Monday morning via my usual means (I.e. AIM). I will still be available sporadically there and PMs will be the best way to get ahold of me. I should have pre-polls for my race up on schedule (likely sometime Sunday afternoon). However, should the gods of travel spite me, I will notify all affected parties by Sunday night of any schedule changes.

An announcement that we meant to make before the beginning of this cycle: the amount of party funds will be $30M instead of $60M. As neither party posted transfers on day one, it's an equal disadvantage. Apologies for the late notice.
The Steele
Er. Hmm. Ok.

Schedule revision for Presidential Race:

Today (Wednesday, Jan 12) is a BREAK day for the Presidential race, polls will be out later today
Tomorrow (Thursday, Jan 13) is DAY 6
Friday, Jan 14 is DAY 7, and the FINAL DAY of the race.

A reminder also, that on Day 7 only, you get 8 events (6 regular, 1 marquee, and 1 supermarquee) rather than the normal 7.

Not sure where Day 7 disappeared to on the original schedule.

Schedule change for local races: Because several of our grading admins have had computer issues (or a blizzard), we're adjusting the schedule for most local races.

Today, January 13th, is a second break day.
January 14th, 23:59 Eastern, day three is due.
January 15th, Day four is due.

OH-II and GL-II schedules will be revised with the candidates and announced by Clay.

House elections and the presidential election are unaffected.
Alexandra Roosevelt
Great Lakes II will be on the following schedule due to one of its candidates traveling, subject to further revision down the road with the candidates:

1/14 - Day One
1/15 - Day Two
1/16 - Break Day/Half Polls
1/17 - Day Three
1/18 - Day Four, results to follow ASAP
Mitchell
Okay, apologies to my little DIX monsters, but despite the fact that God loves Floridians more than the rest of you all, all Dixie races will go by this schedule. Once again, sorry for the confusion on my part, and if you've already submitted Day 3 events, that's fine. But those are your deadlines going forward.
Alexandra Roosevelt
Don't miss the above announcement by Mitchell. Damn Floridian.

Ohio Valley Senate will also have Day One tomorrow. Break Day (or lack thereof) will be decided at a later point.
JWK
Due to the database issue Steele notes here, I am extending all House election deadlines by one day.

Day 3 events are due tonight before midnight. Day 4 events will be due Saturday night before midnight. Results will be posted . . . some time after that.
JWK
Today was a long, long day for me and I only just got home within the last 15 minutes or so. I'll make every effort to have House elections graded and results posted tomorrow (as soon as is humanly possible).
