There are times when, for any number of reasons, a player will feel they need to leave the game and not be tempted to come back. While we prefer people exercise will power, we are willing to provide user requested bans. However, in order to prevent the issue of players requesting permanent bans, then immediately asking to be let back, please observe the following guidelines:

If you need to be restricted from the board for a specific amount of time- If, for example, you have finals coming up and want to avoid any distractions, simply ask to be banned for a length of time in the 'Other Masking Thread' in the Help Desk. Once that amount of time is up, you will automatically be reinstated to the board. Please do not ask for bans of less than one week in length. Any less, you can tough it out. Once the ban has been put in place, it will not be revoked early, so please consider this carefully when making your request. Also, bear in mind that all rules concerning LOA's and activity removals still apply during a user requested ban.

For a permanent ban- If you really do feel you need to leave the game permanently, and never be tempted to return, you may request a permanent ban. Please consider this carefully before asking, as permanent bans will be enforced as such. Admins will observe a 48 hour 'cooling off' period after a player requests such a ban, in case the player changes their mind. If enacted, the ban will be permanent. Please do not request a permanent ban, and then make a new account, as it will be deleted.
